Because of the difference in nutritional need, there is a clear difference in composition between sturgeon feeds and carp feeds. Moreover, sturgeon pellets sink because sturgeons mainly consume their food on the bottom. It is therefore advisable to use a portion of sinking feed in addition to floating feed when using a combination of carp and sturgeon on your pond. For young sturgeons, which are usually born between January and May, depending on the species, it is best to get a high-quality, high-energy feed so that they grow quick enough and can build up a fat reserve for the first harsh winter. Pure fish oil is processed in this pellet because for young sturgeon the fat source may only be of marine origin to prevent digestion problems. The high energy value is reflected in the nutritional analysis in which especially the fat content is remarkably high.
